The Story of D and How He Successfully Beat Addiction
I want to share a real story—raw and honest—about how my friend got clean. It's not something you hear every day, and it's definitely not some polished "recovery journey" you’d read in a magazine. But it’s real. And 7OH lean syrup played a big role in it.
Let me start by saying: this isn’t medical advice. This is one person’s story. Everyone’s path is different, and if you or someone you care about is struggling with addiction, professional help is always the safest bet.
The Spiral
My friend—we’ll call him D—had been using for years. Like a lot of people, it started with pills and eventually slid into something harder. He’d tried getting clean multiple times. Rehab, cold turkey. The cycle was brutal. Withdrawals hit like a truck, and cravings always crept back in.
He wasn’t ready to quit cold turkey. But he was ready to change something. That’s when I had introduced him to 7OH. We discussed the benefits of utilizing it as an alternative to suboxone. It was easier to taper off of, and had less withdrawal effects. However, he MUST stay diligent in his dosing schedule if he wanted to succeed. He agreed it was worth a shot.
What is 7OH?
7OH is a legal product that promotes relaxing, euphoric effects. Being a natural based product it also has the potential benefits of nearly 0 overdose potential (unless mixed with other substances), reduced withdrawal effects, and being easier to taper off of.
The Transition
D didn’t experience instant results switching to 7OH. It was gradual. He started using 7OH lean syrup in moments where he knew he’d usually reach for heroin. Just to get through the evening. Just to sleep. Just to not feel like shit.
He told me it helped soften the crash. It didn’t erase the withdrawals completely, but it helped him manage. The syrup promoted help with anxiety, nausea, and that deep body ache that comes with detox. It gave him just enough relief to power through the worst of it. Some days are tougher than others, but ultimately it gave him the tool he needed to defeat his toughest vice.
And it wasn’t just about the physical side—7OH gave him a ritual. Something to sip on. Something to hold. Something to replace the needle or the foil. That mattered more than people realize.
The Dosing Schedule
He tried this schedule to try with the notion that he can use more or less if needed depending on his initial switch. But, once it had been a few days without, it would be time to stay consistent to the taper. NO re-dose before 6-8hrs had passed
The Schedule:
Day 1-2: 60mg 7OH 3x a day
Days 3-5: 40mg 7OH 3x a day
Days 6-9: 20mg 7OH 3x a day
Days 10-13: 10mg 7OH 3x a day
Days 14-17: 5mg 7OH 3x a day
Days 18-20: 2.5mg 7OH 3x a day
Switching to Kratom
For the next few days after he completed the taper from 7OH, we decided to try kratom powder/capsules to finish his journey. Kratom has much lower amounts of 7OH and has many other alkaloids that can ease these types of withdrawals.
Here is the Schedule we used from here:
Day 21-23: 4g Kratom Powder 3x a day
Day 24-26: 2g Kratom Powder 3x a day
Day 27-29: 1g Kratom Powder 3x a day
Day 30-32: 0.5g Kratom Powder 3x a day
Staying Off
After finalizing his taper with 7OH and kratom, D’s been clean for over six months now. He still uses 7OH/Kratom occasionally, especially on rough days, but now that is even a rarity. He never uses 2 days in succession and usually goes at least 1 week before enjoying small doses of 7OH lean syrup or kratom tea on his weekends. He’s clear-eyed, working again, and rebuilding relationships that were once shattered.
He knows it’s not a perfect system. He knows some people will say he just traded one substance for another. But here’s the thing—he’s alive. He’s getting better. And for him, 7OH wasn’t a new addiction. It was a bridge to beginning a sober life.
Final Thoughts
Addiction is ugly. Recovery isn’t linear. And sometimes, what helps isn’t what’s listed in a pamphlet. For D, 7OH lean syrup alongside kratom wasn’t a miracle drug fix—but it was a tool. A stepping stone. And it helped him escape something way worse.
If you or someone you know is trying to get clean, know that there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. But there are options. And sometimes, even the smallest step away from the edge can be the beginning of something better.
Again, this is not medical advice. This is one person's experience with 7OH and recovery. If you are suffering from an addiction please seek professional help for the safest bet.
